Never in the thirty six years of television in the country have the tele-affairs been so momentous as they are today. To date there are at least three local channel on the scene. UTN (Urdu Television Network), has already started its test transmission through Asia Sat, commonly known as the Zee dish. UTN has made its way to the Pakistani viewer on the satellite and cable very rapidly. Currently re-runs are being telecast. AMN (Asia Media Network), also based in the United Arab Emirates, has put up its offices in Karachi, and procurement of equipment is almost finalized and a blend of new and veteran talent has been commissioned projects.
